A bar security guard is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg after being involved in a shootout outside of a bar in the Feltonville section of the city, CBSPhilly reports.

The incident took place at around 2 a.m.Thursday near Front and Wyoming when the security guard, who hasn't been named but is said to be recovering from his injury at Temple University Hospital, reportedly stepped outside the bar after hearing shots fired.

What ensued was a shootout with 27 shots exchanged by both the security guard and an unidentified male suspect who fled the scene in a Chevy Malibu with two other people.

There is no word on who, if anyone, the shooter was originally aiming at when he fired his weapon.

The escape vehicle was reportedly found ditched a few blocks away, and police are now looking for all three suspects.
