Former Atlantic City police officer Andre Corbin was sentenced Friday for sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced that Corbin, 44, was sent to New Jersey State Prison for incarceration following  his arrest in May 2014 for using his position to elicit sexual favors from a 16-year-old girl.

Corbin committed the assault on the girl between January and August of 2013. He admitted in court to sending the underage female a picture of his penis through FaceTime while wearing his police uniform.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the assault occurred on numerous occasions in Corbin's police car, prompting the girl to approach her teachers about it.

Superior Court Judge Michael Donio, who issued the ruling, said that Corbin would force the girl to continue performing oral sex on him when she did not do it long enough.

In addition to serving a five year prison sentence, Corbin has been barred from holding public office in the future and will have to register as a sex offender for life under Megan's Law.
