More than four centuries of history are packed into 12 galleries at the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia. In addition to tracing the history of the settlers who landed here in the 1600s, the museum explores various Swedish architectural styles, recognizes the accomplishments of numerous Swedish-Americans and celebrates Nobel Prize winners.

The American Swedish Historical Museum's annual Smorgasbeer event will take place on Saturday, July 29. Philadelphians are invited to learn about Swedish culture while drinking and eating.

There will be a traditional tipsrunda or "quiz walk" through the museum, which attendees can take in between filling up their cups and plates.

This year's breweries include Yards Brewing Co., Saint Benjamin Brewing Co., Sterling Pig Beer, Naked Brewing Co. and Argilla Brewing Co.

Mead and cider from Liquid Alchemy and Swedish Rekorderlig Cider will be available, too.

To eat, there will be Swedish foods like meatballs, cheeses and sausages, along with caramel and rosemary popcorn from Jeffrey Miller Catering Co. and a Swedish-inspired lingonberry water ice from Pop's Homemade Waterice.

The evening will also feature lawn games, a DJ and raffles.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Designated driver tickets are $10. FDR Park offers free parking in front of the museum.
