Atlantic City street fight leads to stabbing, suspect arrested

25-year-old Oscar Hernandez charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses

Police in Atlantic City have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred Saturday morning nearby Caesar's Hotel and Casino.

On Sunday, the Atlantic City Police Department issued an alert announcing that the suspect, 25-year-old Oscar Hernandez, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

According to authorities, the incident stemmed from a street fight that took place at Missouri Avenue and the Boardwalk. When officers responded to the scene at 4:24 a.m., they found 28-year-old Daniel Flores, of Atlantic City, suffering from a stab wound to his torso. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Security officers with Caeser's Hotel and Casino were able to provide police with the last known location of the suspect. Hernandez was later taken into custody several blocks away.

Hernandez was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays Landing, where he remains held on $50,000 bail.
