Fans of La Colombe coffee can head to the flagship store on Thursday, March 31, for a special event with tastings and discussion.

Todd Carmichael, owner of La Colombe and host of the TV series "Dangerous Grounds," will be in attendance to speak about his global adventures hunting for coffee beans.

If you've seen the Travel Channel show, then you know Carmichael knows no boundaries when it comes to getting the perfect cup of coffee. Attendees will hear his stories firsthand.

Monell olfactory scientists Joel Mainland and Casey Trimmer will also be in attendance and will discuss the science behind coffee's effect on the senses. They'll give a demonstration to finish off the lesson.

During the event, La Colombe will prepare a selection from the menu with a coffee and rum tasting. Wine and beer will be on hand.

Tickets start at $75 per person.

The event is a collaboration between La Colombe, the Monell Chemical Senses Center and the Geographical Society of Philadelphia.
