Bucks County blood drive will honor young girl who survived brain injury

7-year-old Ally Turner needed multiple blood transfusions to survive

A blood drive in Bucks County will honor a young girl from Abington who survived a traumatic brain injury, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Ally Turner, age 7, fell in the bathtub last December and sustained brain damage due to oxygen deprivation. Luckily, her mom is a neonatal intensive care unit nurse and gave her CPR. She was rushed to the hospital and spent weeks in intensive care, then months in rehab.

Ally could not have survived without multiple blood transfusions, so her family and the American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive in her honor.

The blood drive will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Bucks County Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 10 Greene Road in Warminster.
