Broadway, Philly stars come together for 'Urinetown'

One-night-only performance to benefit Theatre Horizon

Norristown's Theatre Horizon is hosting a fundraiser August 18 in the form of a one-night performance of satirical musical "Urinetown." For the special reading, Theatre Horizon has gathered actors from Philly and Broadway stages.

"Urinetown," a satire of populism, capitalism and politics, has won three Tony Awards, three Outer Critic's Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards. Mark Hollmann composed the music and lyrics and Greg Kotis wrote the book and lyrics.

Performers from "Wicked," "Phantom of the Opera" and "Memphis" will participate in Theatre Horizon's reading, which is part of Horizon's "42nd And Main" series, uniting 42nd Street and Main Street. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish but reservations are recommended.
