Joel Burger and Ashley King learned Monday via Skype that Burger King will pay for their upcoming wedding in July.

Joel Burger and Ashley King got the surprise of a lifetime Monday when they learned via Skype that Burger King will be paying for their upcoming wedding, The State Journal-Register (SJR) first reported.

The Illinois couple, who have been known as Burger-King since the name was given to them by a motivational speaker at a fifth-grade assembly, announced their engagement this spring with a picture taken next to the Burger King restaurant logo in Springfield, Illinois.

When Burger King learned of the upcoming Burger-King union, the company decided to help them celebrate.

"When we heard about the happy, Burger-King couple, we felt an overwhelming urge to celebrate their upcoming marriage," Eric Hirschhorn, Burger King Brand spokesman, told SJR.

"On so many levels it felt like fate; they found each other and their story found us. We knew deep in our hearts that we wanted to honor the union of Mr. Burger and Ms. King. And now we hope we've swept them off their feet. All we ask in return is that they live happily ever after."

Burger and King will be married on July 17 in Jacksonville, Illinois.
