A college student is dead after an SUV crashed in Center City early Sunday morning.
According to NBC Philadelphia, the victim was driving a Toyota 4Runner westbound on Lombard Street between 4th and 5th streets around 7 a.m. when the crash occurred.
6 ABC reports that the vehicle was travelling fast when it hit a tree, going airborne and crashing into the wall of the Old Pine Community Center.
The victim was not wearing a seatbelt, however alcohol was not involved, NBC reports. Three passengers in the SUV were not injured, according to 6 ABC.
The age of the unidentified male victim is not clear, as 6 ABC reports that he was 21 while NBC Philadelphia reports that he was 20.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are investigating the crash.
