Representative Adam Schiff of California lost a bet on the outcome of the Dodgers-Mets game and was forced to sing "Meet the Mets" in front of Congress.

As if having to sit through Hillary Clinton's 11-hour Benghazi hearing wasn't painful enough, a member of Congress had to endure another humiliation: singing the Mets' theme song.

Representative Adam Schiff, having lost a bet to fellow Democrat Steve Israel on the outcome of the game between the LA Dodgers and New York Mets last week, was forced to sing "Meet the Mets" in the hallowed halls of our nation's Capitol building on Friday.

It seemed almost cruel to submit Schiff to more suffering after he had already served his time as a member of the Benghazi investigation committee that questioned Clinton on Thursday.

The pain in his voice was palpable as he choked out, "Bring your kiddies, bring your wife. Guaranteed to have...the time of your life."

"Mr. Speaker, please tell me my time is expired," he sighed at the end of the song.

The Representative assured his audience that, despite his apparent pain, he was happy for the Mets.

"I say thank God the Mets are going to the World Series," he said, "and not the Yankees."
