Jerry Jones tries to karate chop Dez Bryant, but misses.

Dez Bryant dropped a bomb on Twitter today, when he said that he will not play this season if he doesn't get a new contract by the franchise tag deadline on Wednesday, July 15th.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported earlier today that Bryant made a personal call to the Cowboys directly to inform them of his intentions.

The tweet comes on the heels of a phone call he recently made to the team to communicate the same message, according to league sources.
The wide receiver personally informed Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones that he will not attend training camp and will sit out regular-season games unless they reach agreement on a long-term deal before Wednesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline, the sources said.

Bryant is arguably the best player on the team, and perhaps the most irreplaceable one other than quarterback Tony Romo. After losing DeMarco Murray this offseason and possibly Dez Bryant because of contract dispute, it won't matter how good that offensive line is.

Stay tuned.
