Did 'Kevin Hart is funnier' comment spark Katt Williams' alleged attack?

Women claim comedian assaulted them after conversation went sour

Katt Williams is having a rough 2016 so far.

He was arrested on a battery charge in Georgia late last month. Then he posted a series of strange videos asking Philly-born comedian Kevin Hart to a "$5 million comedy showdown." (Spoiler alert: it didn't happen.) Then he got into a brawl at a Beanie Sigel show after his own performance at the Liacouras Center. (Sigel later claimed he would never perform in Philly again thanks to the incident. Philly rapper Boone suggests the comedian was on drugs at the time.)

And then, he was arrested for threatening to kill his bodyguard. And then he was charged with assaulting a group of women in Atlanta, Georgia.

Now, those women are claiming the assault all started when one of the women said to Williams, "Kevin Hart is funnier anyway." Considering Williams' apparent animosity toward the beloved Philly comedian, this must have been a low blow.

The group of five women had run into Williams and his friends while out for a bachelorette celebration, WSB-TV Atlanta reports. The encounter apparently began as a typical celebrity photo-op until Williams turned verbally abusive.

“I said Kevin Hart is funnier anyway and that like lit a fire under him,” one victim, Selena, told WSB-TV. “The next thing I know he's charging at me. He actually hit me right here in my left temple (and) tackled me to the ground. We were tussling, I get kicked and I get pulled."

The alleged victims claim they then ran to their cars, only to be blocked in by Williams' group. He then allegedly waved a gun at the women and stole one of their phones. The group's attorney is now asking Atlanta police to pursue felony charges against him.
