A rare sight: Miles Austin holding a football.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Philadelphia Eagles released their inactives against the New England Patriots, and the biggest news is that Jason Peters and Bennie Logan are active. Earlier this week, Sam Bradford was listed as probable, so he will start at quarterback, as expected. And finally ... stop the presses... Miles Austin was benched. Here is the full list of Eagles and Patriots inactives:

Eagles

RB Ryan Mathews: Ryan Mathews is running for 6.1 yards per carry, and has been the one pleasant surprise on this offense this season. He'll be out for the third straight week with a concussion. DeMarco Murray should see the bulk of the carries. Again.

DE Cedric Thornton: As we noted in our five matchups to watch, because they'll be without Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, the Pats could try to pound the Eagles with the run. The Eagles will have to stop them without Thornton, and with a banged-up Bennie Logan.

 WR Miles Austin: Praise Jesus.

• CB Denzel Rice: With a healthy secondary, Rice remains on the inactive list.

• OL Tanner Hawkinson: Recent addition after the Eagles suffered some injuries along their OL.

OL Barrett Jones: Ditto.

• QB Thad Lewis: With two healthy quarterbacks ahead of him, Lewis moves back to the inactive list.

Patriots

The Patriots' inactives are TE Rob Gronkowski, WR Julian Edelman, LB Dont'a Hightower, DL Dominique Easley, DB Justin Coleman, RB Trey Williams, and DB Jordan Richards. Three starters, and really good ones.
