Two hospitalized after fire breaks out at South Philadelphia building

Two people were injured in a blaze at a building in South Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, NBC10 reports.

The fire started at a building with apartments on 16th and Ritner streets. Firefighters were able to control the blaze in about 20 minutes. 

A person inside the building and a firefighter were taken to Jefferson University Hospital. 

The resident is currently in stable condition. The firefighter was taken for observation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
