"Portrait of Self: Visual and Narrative" is a mixed-media memoir workshop, which combines storytelling and mixed media visual arts.
First Person Arts and Da Vinci Art Alliance (DVAA) will collaborate on a new workshop titled "Portrait of Self: Visual and Narrative" on June 20. The workshop combines storytelling and mixed media visual arts. DVAA calls the class a "memoir workshop."
Jamie J. Brunson, executive director of First Person Arts, will help attendees craft a short story based on a personal experience, then Linda Dubin Garfield, award-winning printmaker, mixed media artist and president of DVAA, will guide the class in creating a self-portrait based on the short story.
Attendees are encouraged to bring personal items (photos, stickers, buttons) to add to their collage.
