The health care tax form 1095-A. If you got health coverage through the Affordable Care Act, you'll need a new form from your insurance exchange before you can file your tax return.

For area seniors, tax help may come free.

Volunteers with the AARP will help those with moderate or low incomes prepare their taxes on Tuesday during a four-hour session in Cherry Hill that starts at 10 a.m. The session is one of several scheduled in the area for this tax season.

As people get older, there are new types of tax deductions they may qualify for, such as those related to health care or their fixed income. The process for finding these deductions, however, can be complicated, which is why the AARP has volunteers who can help ensure that seniors receive their full refund.

The group said it is important that those who attend bring certain forms, such as their previous year’s tax return, health care information and a personal ID, as examples.

The session will be held in Room 208 at 820 Mercer St. in Cherry Hill.

The AARP has provided tax aid across the country for decades. Its website says it serves about 2.6 million taxpayers each year. They are also looking for new volunteers with tax filing expertise.
