There will be salsa lessons, Latin music, empanadas at outdoor party

The event is part of the City of Philadelphia's Performance in Public Spaces grant program

On Friday, Aug. 18, there will be salsa dancing at the Headhouse Shambles, an open-air event space.

Those who want to learn the moves can take a free lesson with Society Hill Dance Academy between 6-7 p.m. After, dance to music by Latin band Un Toque de Cache through 9 p.m., or watch a performance by Siempre Salsa Philly.

Adding to the party-vibe, there will be cocktails and empanadas from Malbec Argentine Steakhouse.

The event is free to attend, just pay-as-you-go for food & drink.

The Friday night dance party is made possible through the City of Philadelphia's Performance in Public Spaces grant program.
