Girl, 3, recovered safely in New Jersey following Amber Alert

Authorities in New Jersey and New York issued an Amber Alert after Diomedes Valenzuela allegedly abducted his daughter Rebecca Valenzuela on Tuesday.

Authorities in New Jersey and New York issued an Amber Alert late Tuesday afternoon calling on the public's help searching for a man who fled with his 3-year-old daughter after allegedly stabbing the girl's mother at her Bronx home.

By 5:30 p.m., New Jersey State police tweeted they had safely located the girl, Rebecca Valenzuela and arrested 51-year-old Diomedes Valenzuela after a traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway in Clifton, New Jersey.


Authorities said Diomedes Valenzuela allegedly stabbed a woman multiple times inside her Perry Avenue home in the Bedford Park neighborhood of the Bronx, 6ABC reported. After the stabbing, Valenzuela allegedly abducted the girl.

WPIX11 in New York reported the woman, 31, has ben hospitalized in critical condition.
