GlobalPhilly 2015 brings a 60-day international exposition to celebrate and showcase Philadelphia's diverse heritage.

The summer in Philadelphia may be winding down, but that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of events to keep you occupied throughout the coming fall season.

As Philadelphia anticipates a potential designation as the first World Heritage City in the United States, the nonprofit Global Philadelphia Association has announced a 60-day event series, GlobalPhilly 2015, to enhance the city's international stature.

"We want the world to know what we've known for years, that Philadelphia is a thriving international community that has so much to offer as a vibrant hub for global commerce, culture, dialogue and tourism," said John F. Smith, III, Chair of the Association's Board of Directors, in a news release.

The event series, running from Sept. 15 to Nov. 15, will include dozens of participating organizations throughout Philadelphia, with a focus on activities and programs that foster international dialogue and local pride.

Highlights will include a Constitution Day appearance by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer on Sept. 17, the Dalai Lama's appearance at La Salle on Oct. 26 and additional visits by direct M. Knight Shyamalan and Peter Feldmann, mayor of Frankfurt, Germany.
