Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf speaks with members of the media Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at the state Capitol in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf issued an update on his health on Friday following a prostate cancer diagnosis last February.

His news was good, as he said his doctors have issued him a “clean bill of health” following several months of treatment.

Wolf, 68, announced his diagnosis back in February and noted at the time that it was detected in the early stages and, therefore, was treatable.

He also mentioned that his diagnosis wouldn't affect his job as governor and highlighted that the cancer was detected through a routine checkup. He's since been using his story as an example to encourage others to undergo routine checkups.

" I encourage all Pennsylvanians to make sure they schedule regular checkups with their doctors — last year my treatable prostate cancer diagnosis was thankfully detected early after a regular appointment — and are aware of screening guidelines so early detection and treatment can be possible," Wolf said in a statement Friday.
