The Hot Chocolate 15K and 5K is Saturday, April 4.

Plenty of races and fun-runs reward participants with a cold beer, but when summer temps elude us a mug of chocolate does the trick just as well. Enter the Hot Chocolate 15K/5K, running our way Saturday, April 4.

Both the approximately 9.3 mile and 3.1 mile courses start by the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval, then continue along the Schuylkill River. Right in line with the course's water, restroom and medical stations are "Sweet Stations" where runners can pick up chocolate chips, chocolate and strawberry marshmallows and Tootsie Rolls. What a sweet way to motivate yourself for each mile.

Successful Hot Chocolate runners receive a Finisher Mug at the end to fill with chocolate fondue, dunk-able bites and hot chocolate at the family friendly post-race party. Runners who finish the 15K will get a special chocolate bar medal for their hard work, too. Before race day, when runners pick up their registration packets at the Hot Chocolate Expo, they'll find a cute hoodie in their goodie bag.

Register by Sunday, March 22 for a price discount; after that, prices will increase by $5 until registration closes.
