A New York man has been charged with manslaughter related to the fatal beating of a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault his wife.
According to 6ABC, the incident took place at around 10:15 p.m. Monday in the Bronx.
Police told 6ABC the victim was returning home to her apartment when the suspect, 43-year-old Earl Nash, also of the Bronx, approached and physically assaulted her “before removing her clothes.”
The victim was able to break free and call her husband, Mamadou Diallo, who was home at the time and went outside where a physical altercation with Nash took place, ultimately leading to his death.
Police told 6ABC that Nash, who had a previous criminal history, was transported to a nearby hospital with head and body trauma. He was later pronounced dead.
Diallo has been charged with manslaughter.
