A bed can host up to 10 million dust mites, according to an IFLScience report.

As you rest your head on your pillow and drift into a dream, you likely aren't alone. And we're not talking about a significant other.

According to a report by IFLScience, up to 10 million allergy-aggravating dust mites could be crawling around in your bedsheets.

If that's not enough to make you squirm, IFLScience reports that up to 10 percent of your pillow’s weight could be made up of dust mites and their poop.

"We shed around 8.8 pounds of skin cells over the course of a year. A lot of this inevitably ends up where we spend a third of our life; our beds. Unfortunately, this is the dust mite's meal of choice," the report said.
