'Lord of the Rings' movie-concert returns to the Mann Center

This year 'The Two Towers' will be screened

On July 23, The Mann Center will host a screening of the second movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, "The Two Towers," accompanied by the Philadelphia Orchestra. Last July, on the same date, the first movie was shown.

The orchestra and two choirs will perform the musical score during the movie. In "The Two Towers," Frodo and Sam continue on their quest to destroy the One Ring, while each member of the broken Fellowship plays a part in the battle against the wizard Saruman and his army.

Packing a picnic is permitted for this symphonic concert, whether on the lawn or in seats. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 show. Tickets start at $25 per person.
