Create a felt monster at Dept. of Making + Doing.

Thanks to rising rents in the University City neighborhood, "maker space" Dept. of Making + Doing is closing down at the end of October. But until then, there are still a few more chances to enjoy the expertise and learning environment at DMD.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, they'll host a "LED Masks & Monsters" workshop. The event will explore light-up fashion and "e-textiles," where lights and electronics work their way into what we wear. The class will include basic instruction in circuits and sewing and materials to create a felt monster will be included. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own fabric or materials to use, too.

Luckily, no experience in either sewing or programming is required, making this workshop perfect for all ages 13 and older.
