A woman's boyfriend is in custody after police allege he called 911 early Monday morning to report strangling her to death in Kensington.

NBC10 reports that the suspect, who hasn't yet been identified, called 911 around 2:30 a.m. on Monday. According to police, he allegedly reported that he had strangled his girlfriend to death inside a home on Rorer Street near Willard Street.

When officers arrived at the home, police said they found a dead woman, along with four children under the age of 12. They were asleep and presumably unaware of the situation.

The suspect was nowhere to be found, but police were able to locate him in his vehicle in Port Richmond.

He has been taken into police custody, and the children have been removed from the home, NBC10 reports.

This is a developing situation. Check back for updates and read the full current report at NBC10.
