Investigation underway after armed man robs U.S. Post Office in Northeast Philadelphia

Suspect stole cash and money orders, remains at large

Philadelphia police and U.S. Postal Service officials are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at a post office in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to police, an armed male suspect entered the U.S. Post Office located on the 6300 block of Castor Avenue just before 4:30 p.m., 6 ABC reports.

The suspect, described as a black male between 45 and 50 years old, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and money orders. He had a grey beard and was last seen wearing a bucket hat, plaid shirt and tan cargo shorts.

Nobody was injured during the robbery. Those who have information are asked to contact Philadelphia police.
