Police: Man slashed tires on about 30 vehicles in South Philadelphia

A man is in custody after he allegedly slashed the tires on a number of vehicles in South Philadelphia early Monday, NBC10 reports.

Philadelphia police said about 30 cars were vandalized along Ellsworth and 13th streets.

"I actually saw him do it to my neighbor's car. And then I saw him go down the street and do it to the next car,” Nicole O’Rourke told NBC10. “I tried to just get a good look at him … I grabbed my phone and called 911."

Another neighbor said the suspect was holding a “Rambo-style” hunting knife.

The 29-year-old man, whom police are calling a person of interest, was taken into custody. Investigators estimated he slashed tires on at least 30 cars.
