Man, woman hospitalized after shooting in Frankford

A man and a woman were hospitalized late Tuesday night after being shot in Frankford, 6ABC reports.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at Darrah and Wakeling streets.

Police say the 31-year-old male victim was shot in the leg. While he was being driven to the hospital, the driver reportedly crashed his SUV into a column at the hospital.

The victim was in critical condition. The driver was not injured.

The 24-year-old woman was shot in the leg. Police say she tried to run to Aria Frankford Hospital for treatment, leaving behind a trail of blood. She was listed in stable condition.

According to police, several shell casings, money and pills were discovered at the scene and inside the SUV.

Police say the motive could be drugs. The incident remains under investigation.
