You'll have plenty of time to meet the neighbors at this equestrian estate in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

If you were the kind of kid who filled up notebooks with horse sketches, tore through books like Black Beauty and dreamed of one day having a beautiful mare or stallion to call your own...well, you can still dream, because some people really do live out that equestrian fantasy.

Take the five elegant estates below, for example. Each is an exquisite example of a real, working horse farm in the idyllic Pennsylvania countryside. And each one is on the market right now.

1. Magnolia-dotted estate in New Hope, $2,650,000

Feel like a gentleman farmer at "Fairfield," a historic property with a gorgeous 1850's stone manor at its center. Dignified, mature magnolia and lilac trees grace the 24-acre estate, with features a French garden and an enormous swimming pool. An enormous red bank barn with 18 stalls, plus indoor and outdoor riding rings, leaves plenty of room for horses.

2. Billy Penn's old digs in New Hope, $10,000,000

Okay, yes, that's a lot of zeroes — but note that this property is actually three homes on 190 rolling acres. The manor house at the center dates to 1713, while the estate itself was part of William Penn's original land grant. The estate right now is being used as a horse breeding farm.

3. Still Hollow Farm in Glenmoore, $990,000

The "still" in Still Hollow Farm refers to moonshine stills — this spot was rumored to have had quite the operation back during Prohibition. The history of this incredibly charming estate goes back all the way to 1760, when the main home was built. You'll also find a stone bank barn with five horse stalls, three fenced pastures, and a three-story trinity home that would make a perfect guest house (AirBnB, anyone?).

4. Animal lovers' paradise in Glen Mills, $599,888

Three buildings sit on this property, offering space "for you and your precious animal friends," as the listing states. There's a ranch-style four bedroom, a five-stall barn and a stand-alone spring house. It's the perfect spot for people who aren't necessary millionaires — just passionate horse lovers.

If you really want to let your imagination run wild, then build a home from scratch in the midst of property with all the features necessary for a working horse farm. The property already has two barns that can fit 17 horses, a historic farmhouse, a dressage area and riding ring and a five-car garage that could also be used for storage. In the middle of all that, there's 8,000 square feet of space where you can build your dream home.
