A seriously ornate kitchen in Merion Station, Pennsylvania.

We all know that the most important room in the house is the one you eat in. Seriously, does any room outside the kitchen matter? The owners of these on-the-market clearly thought not, because they went all out to create their culinary havens. Check out the four dream kitchens below.

1. Versailles fantasy kitchen in Merion Station, $1,985,000

Even in an almost $2 million home that looks essentially like a stone castle, this kitchen is a tad on the flamboyant side. It looks like Marie Antoinette could bake cakes here, or at order her servants to do it. Who knew that ovens could look so baroque?

2. Enormous chef’s quarters in Blue Bell, $1,495,000

This home has the right priorities. Rather than hiding the kitchen behind the living room, the kitchen dwarfs the living room with a double island that proudly takes up the center of the home. Professional details like a brushed steel range vent make this a true chef’s kitchen.

3. Open concept on the next level in Center Valley, $965,00

Located on the delightfully-named Ballybunion Road, this five-bedroom home in the Lehigh Valley features a dramatic kitchen that expands not only out, but up. Open and expansive, the space has plenty of that. Meals can be taken in the octagonal breakfast room or right next to the kitchen in the comfortable family room with a wood-burning fireplace.

4. Quaint and cozy (but huge!) kitchen in New Hope, $899,000

The charming, somewhat rustic wood paneling on this kitchen makes it look so inviting and down-to-earth that you forget for a moment that it’s freaking enormous. This baby’s got marble countertops for miles. The little cookbook nook under the counter is also a nice touch.
