Martin Short to join Academy of Music 159th Anniversary Concert & Ball

Celebrated comedian and actor will entertain white-tie gala

Celebrated comedian, actor and singer Martin Short will be a very special guest at this year's Academy of Music 159th Anniversary Concert and Ball, the Philadelphia Orchestra announced Wednesday. Short will join the Philadelphia Orchestra and Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin on stage to entertain the white-tie crowd Saturday, Jan. 23.

The theme for the evening is "Philadelphia’s Night of Nights!" It will commence at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-concert reception before Short and the Orchestra take the stage for the big show at 7:30 p.m. Afterward, the party continues at the Hyatt at the Bellevue with a dinner and a ball. 

Tickets are already on sale for the annual gala event. Prices begin at $350 for Young Friends of the Orchestra and reach up to $2,075 for parquet and balcony box seats. Concert-only tickets will be available for $75 beginning in early November.
