Sister Cities Garden in Logan Square was re-designed by urban design Studio Bryan Hanes.

Bryan Hanes, Founding Principal of Studio Bryan Hanes, will host a Lukens Endowed Lecture at Morris Arboretum on Sunday, Jan. 17. The lecture is titled "Designing Sustainable Spaces" and is a free event after garden admission. Registration is required, however.

Studio Bryan Hanes is an award-winning landscape architecture and urban design firm based in Callowhill. During the lecture, Hanes will discuss a few recent Philadelphia projects: the redesign of Sister Cities Garden at Logan Square, the Reading Viaduct spur between Broad and Callowhill Streets and the Schuylkill Avenue Esplanade.

Attendees will learn how public space design should express the needs of the community to be sustainable over time.
