Mother who commissioned Photoshopped photos with dead daughter charged with murder

The Pennsylvania photographer who created the photos claims he was misled

A North Carolina mother who reportedly commissioned a Pennsylvania photographer to Photoshop photos of herself with her dead toddler has been charged with the child’s murder.

According to Jezebel, which reported the story and obtained a few of the photos in the collection, the child’s mother, Jeanie Ditty, 23, and her boyfriend Zachary Keefer, 32, were arrested and charged earlier this week with killing 2-year-old Macy Grace.

They are being held without bail on charges of first-degree murder and negligent child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury, Jezebel reports.

Jezebel also added that Ditty is an active-duty soldier at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

According to police reports also obtained by Jezebel and the Fayetteville Observer, 2-year-old Macy Grace was rushed to the hospital on Dec. 2 “unresponsive” and with “ bruises all over her body” that were “consistent with child abuse.”

The medical examiner last week ruled the child’s death a homicide and the mother and her boyfriend were charged.

Jezebel reports the Pennsylvanian photographer who owns and operates Sunny Jo Photography, which creates legacy photographs that incorporate the deceased, said Ditty lied about the child’s cause of death, adding that he did the work for free because he felt sorry for the family.

He now regrets being associated with the story, he told Jezebel.
