Kiki Aranita is one half of Poi Dog Philly, where traditional and non-traditional Hawaiian food is served.

Ten of Philadelphia's most prominent Asian-American and Pacific Islander chefs will be preparing tasting-sized portions of their best dishes on Sept. 16 during a new Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) fundraiser.

Attendees to the event will experience a variety of cuisines from Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Each chef will be creating two dishes: a signature plate and a vegetarian option. At the end of the event, winners of "Best Overall Dish" and "Best Vegetarian Dish" will be announced, based on attendees' votes.

A few examples of what to expect are mango lychee mousse cake, Korean chicken wings and Vietnamese wasabi carpaccio.

Here are the participating chefs:

• Chef Han Chiang from Han Dynasty
• Chef Moon Krapugthong from Chabaa Thai Bistro
• Chef Chris Cho from Seorabol Korean Restaurant
• Chef Madame Saito from Tokio HeadHouse Catering
• Chef Kiki Aranita and chef Chris Vacca from Poi Dog Snack Shop
• Chef Susan Phay from Capofitto
• Chef Joko Tan from Panda Cafe
• Chef Genevieve Francisco
• Chef Thanh Nguyen from Banh Mi Bar & Bistro
• Pastry chef Anna Chen from A La Mousse

Tickets for the event are $75 per person and include complimentary beer and wine, along with the chefs' samples. All proceeds from the fundraiser support the ninth annual PAAFF, which is the East Coast's largest festival celebrating and elevating the Asian-American experience, both on screen and behind the camera.
