One man killed, one critically injured in North Philadelphia shootings

Police search for suspects in pair of separate shootings

Philadelphia police are investigating after one man was killed and a second man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in North Philadelphia.

Authorities say officers reponded to a report of a person with a gun just after 4:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of West York Street in North Philadelphia, The Daily Item reports.

At the scene, police found a 35-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the ground next to his car. The driver's side door of the vehicle was open and the keys were in the ignition, investigators said.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

In a second incident earlier Sunday morning, a witness reported seeing a man walking along Lindley Avenue clutching his chest. The witness drove the victi, 43, to Einstein Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with two gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made in either incident as police continue to search for suspects.
