Pa. man robs Fort Lee gas station wearing fake nose, glasses

A Pennsylvania man is in police custody after allegedly robbing a Fort Lee gas station Thursday night while wearing a fake nose, mustache and glasses as a disguise, NJ.com reports.

According to Fort Lee Police Deputy Chief Tim Ford, Jose Rodriguez-Peralta, 45, of Scranton, was charged with robbery, weapons possession, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and theft.

Rodriguez-Peralta allegedly drove up to the Speedway gas station on Bergen Boulevard wearing the fake glasses and proceeded to fill up his tan Ford Windstar minivan.

After producing a $50 bill to pay for $18 worth of gasoline, Peralta demanded all the money from the register, grabbed the attendant's arm and the money, and ran back to the minivan, Ford said.

The gas station attendant claimed he saw a handgun on the robber, who fled the scene. He was arrested a short time later during a similar incident in Palisades Park.

Rodriguez-Peralta remained in custody Friday while awaiting arraignment.
