Child dead, three siblings injured after being struck by car in South Jersey

One child is dead and three others are hospitalized after they were struck by a car Tuesday night in Southampton Township, Burlington County.

According to 6ABC, police said five children, all believe to be related, were walking along the 100 block of Buddtown Road around 8:30 p.m. when four of them were hit by the vehicle.

Police said the smallest children were being pulled in a Radio Flyer wagon.

"Besides the two kids lying on the side of the street, there was a girl lying in the middle of the street," neighbor Paul O'Neil told 6ABC. "The neighbor across the street was doing chest compressions on her."

Three of the children were taken to Cooper University Hospital, and one was taken to Virtua Hospital. One child died at the hospital, authorities said, while the other three are in critical condition.

The child who was killed would have turned three in October. The child was identified as 2-year-old Jyonshiel Martinez. The other three victims were identified as 6-year-old Kahariel Martinez, 8-year-old John Giles and 18-year-old Jairisia Galindo.

The vehicle remained at the scene, 6ABC reports. Police are investigating the incident.
