Criminal charges have been filed Friday against a Catholic high school teacher in Pennsylvania for an alleged sexual assault of one of his students.

Jesus Omar Sandoval, 27, was a teacher at Lebanon Catholic High School in Lebanon County. He was placed on administrative leave on Sept. 12 after police notified the school of an investigation, principal Rose Kury said in a letter to parents.

According to WGAL, Sandoval engaged in sexual contact with a female student on school property and at his home. The incidents occurred between October 2013 and April 2014. During that time, the victim turned 16 years old.

An investigation was initiated in September when a tip was submitted to the state's child abuse hotline.

Sandoval was charged with statutory sexual assault, institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, indecent sexual assault of someone under the age of 16 and unlawful contact with a minor, PennLive reports.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if there are other victims.
