Police: Pennsylvania teen admits killing brother over romantic feud

Authorities in Dauphin County have arrested a 15-year-old Williams Township boy who allegedly shot his brother to death earlier this week after a dispute over the victim's girlfriend.

According to ABC 27, Dakota Thornton told investigators that he shot his 18-year-old brother, Dominick, after the two got into an argument over Dakota's romantic interest his brother's girlfriend.

Police responded to a 911 call early Wednesday morning at 113 Autumn Drive and discovered Dakota in an apartment next to the scene of the shooting. Dakota reportedly raised his hands in the air and told troopers, "I shot my brother." Officers were able to arrest Thornton without resistance.

At the police station in Lykens, Thornton told investigators that he shot Dominick with a .410 shotgun that he loaded minutes before deciding to shoot his brother.

Police consulted with the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office and decided to charge Thornton as an adult with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.

Thornton's bail was denied and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 6.
