Person struck, killed by Amtrak train in New Jersey

 An Amtrak train carrying more than 500 people on Sunday afternoon struck and killed a person who was trespassing nearby the Hamilton station. 

According to an Amtrak spokesman, the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when the Northeast Regional service was heading from Washington to Boston, NBC 10 reports. 

Local authorities investigated while the train was held at the scene. No crew members or passengers reported injuries and the victim's identity has not been revealed.
