Go for a run outside.

If you're the type of runner who enjoys a cold beer post-workout (or the type of drinker who enjoys an occasion to try new beers) then the 2016 Pints in the Square 5k and Craft Brew Fest should be on your calendar.

The Newtown Square race and festival will take place on Sept. 17 at Ellis Preserve. Runners will begin the race at 11 a.m.; pints will be poured from noon to 4 p.m.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Newtown Square Fire Company, a neighborhood nonprofit. There are a few ways to participate. Register for just the 5k race, register for just the brew fest, be a designated driver for the brew fest or opt to sign up for both running and drinking.

The last day to register online is Aug. 31.

Local food vendors, live music and craft brews from 25 local and regional breweries will be at the festival.
