Please Touch Museum to host balloon drop for kids on New Year's Eve

Countdown to noon instead of midnight

For those who usually have a 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. bedtime, staying up until midnight to watch the New Year's Eve ball drop can be tough. But, the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park offers an alternative kid-friendly plan: countdown to noon on Thursday, Dec. 31.

The museum will drop balloons at noon and again at 1 p.m. There will be music, activities, dancing and a special appearance by King Countdown, the museum’s official Marshal of the New Year.

The event is perfect for families who want to celebrate together, but at a more convenient time.
