Police: Elderly pedestrian fatally struck crossing Roosevelt Boulevard

A Philadelphia police car.

An elderly man was fatally struck by a car Sunday afternoon while crossing Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia police said.

The incident occurred on the 4000 block of E. Roosevelt Boulevard, near F Street, when the victim, 69, attempted to cross the highway.

Police said the victim was not at a crosswalk when the vehicle traveling southbound struck him.

The victim was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities did not immediately provide information about the driver of the vehicle.
