Philadelphia police are actively investigating after a wooden cross and a full tank of gasoline were found leaning against the stone facade of First Baptist Church in Center City.

According to authorities, the cross and gas tank were discovered just before 10 p.m. Saturday night at the church on 17th and Moravian Streets.

Responding officers found a wooden cross measuring 2' x 4' x 8' left leaning against the rear wall of the building, though it was not clear if the gas tank had been removed from the scene by the time police arrived.

Firefighters and two Fire Marshalls responded to the scene to assist.

There was no fire or accelerant added to the cross and no injuries were reported.
