State police looking for escaped prisoner in Northern Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania State Police are still looking for a Tioga County Prison inmate who did not return after being given temporary release to look for a job Friday, according to a 12 WBNG Action News report on Monday.

Jesse W. Colegrove, 26, was arrested April 20 for theft and related charges. He posted bail shortly after being charged but was subsequently held for violating a child support agreement.

Colegrove was given a furlough to try to look for a job under the supervision of a family member. But he did not return to prison following his temporary release. Colegrove has been charged with escape, according to court records

He is described as a white male with a shaved head and tattoo sleeves on both of his arm. He was last seen driving a blue or silver Subaru.

Colegrove's escape follows a dramatic search for two escaped New York State Prison inmates. The search, which concluded Sunday, lasted several weeks.

Richard Matt, a convicted murderer, was shot and killed Friday by police after refusing to surrender and armed with a shotgun. The second inmate, David Sweat, was shot twice and taken into police custody on Sunday. He remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Anyone with information on Colegrove's whereabouts is asked to call state police in Mansfield at 570-662-2151 or the Tioga County Prison at 570-724-5911.
