A toddler who went missing Sunday morning in Galloway Township has died after authorities say the child was found unresponsive in a nearby swimming pool.
Police said they received a call about a missing two-year-old around 8:30 a.m. and responded to a residence on S. Pitney Raod to locate the child.
Patrol officers canvassed the property and eventually called in additional help to search the surrounding neighborhood.
The child was found unresponsive in a residential swimming pool and administered CPR before being transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The incident comes just a week after a 6-year-old girl drowned in a pool at the Nantucket Inn & Suites in Wildwood.
Police said the incident in Galloway Township is under investigation.
