The body of a woman who had been reported missing was found in the trunk of a car in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia, according to media reports.
Tinika Ballard, 23, was last seen driving a white Chevrolet Cruze on July 6, according to 6ABC.
Family members located the car on Friday around 2 p.m. on the 7500 block of Leon Street.
NBC10 reports that Khiana Pittman, Ballard's sister, immediately called police when she smelled a strong odor as she approached the car.
Officers arrived on the scene and discovered Ballard's body when they opened the trunk.
An investigation is ongoing into Ballard's death.
