Police are asking the public for assistance Wednesday identifying a man who is responsible for a sexual assault in Camden, authorities said.
The Camden County Police Department said the incident occurred Sunday around 6:30 p.m. on the 900 block of South Third Street.
Responding officers found a woman, who reported she was approached by a man in a white van. The attacker forced her to a secluded parking lot where he sexually assaulted her. The man fled the scene shortly after the assault.
The victim was taken to Cooper University Hospital for medical treatment.
Police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a black or Hispanic man between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-7. Authorities also posted surveillance video showing the van that was used in the attack.
