Man sought in indecent assault of girl, 11, in Olney

The Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit is asking for the public's help after a man reportedly indecently assaulted an 11-year-old girl on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

According to police, an 11-year-old girl said that she was walking home from school at around 4 p.m. that day in the 200 block of Widener St. in the city's Olney neighborhood when she was approached by a man who faced her, reached out at her and indecently assaulted her.

While the police provided no further details on the incident, law enforcement officials said that the girl ran home after the incident and immediately notified police.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing all black clothing and a black knit cap, police said.
